- 3. 9. 2006, Hradec Králové -Michal Matějovský with the Prima Team's O2 new logo joined the action in an excellent manner by winning the victory right in the first race of the BMW 1 Challenge on Sunday. 14 drivers altogether were contesting this round of the series at the Brno Masaryk Circuit. Matějovský and his team made a lot of experiments with the car's set-up on Saturday, which were worth the trouble. Michal came third in the first timed practice session. In the second one, he even moved up and claimed first place, taking the pole position for the second race on Sunday. Even though the sky was permanently cloudy, all the practice sessions and races were held on the dry track. Satisfied after crossing the finish line of the first race, Michal Matějovský said: 'I made a perfect start in the first race and, after a short time, I took the lead after passing Honzík and Firla. I managed to control the fifteen-lap race till the finish, quite without problem.' The second race, too, was controlled by Michal Matějovský. After the start, due to a collision with Firla, Michal dropped back for a moment. After several laps, however, he forced his way ahead, and took the lead after overtaking Kusý. Lap by lap, he was increasing his advantage. But the officials interpreted his duel with Firla as a dangerous one, and signalled the drive-through penalty for Michal. Michal was trying hard to increase his cushion over Kusý, who was running second. That was why he did not manage to drive through the pit lane in time, and had to retire from the race.
