- 24. 9. 2006, Brno -
The fifth round of the 2006 BMW 1 Challenge was contested for the first time by two drivers of the O2 Prima Team, that is, by Michal Matějovský and by the Polish driver Robert Lukas, an excellent motor sport talent. And, it was Robert Lukas who won the timed practice session on Saturday morning. In the race, however, he did not make a perfect start and, moreover, he got involved in a collision with Kusý junior. This allowed Dolák, Firla, Honzík and his team-mate, Michal Matějovský, to get ahead of him. Then, Firla, Honzík and Matějovský were fiercely fighting for the victory in the Saturday fifteen-lap race. From lap five, Matějovský was in the lead. On lap seven, however, he lost some time due to a collision with Honzík. In the end, he claimed a fine third place. His Polish team-mate Robert Lukas came fourth in the first race.
On Sunday, the situation of the two team drivers kind of reversed, that is, Michal Matějovský achieved a better result in the timed practice session. He clocked the third fastest time, and took a spot in the second raw of the starting grid. However, he finished in fourth place, while Lukas came second, behind Honzík. Lumír Firla was third.
