In Le Mans, Lacko finished in sixth place twice

Last week, on Thursday, Adam Lacko left for Le Mans, France, to contest the last event of the 2006 FIA European Truck Racing Cup series.

On Saturday, by setting a time of 02:12.410 (at an average speed of 113.647 km/hour) in the timed practice, Adam Lacko took a spot in the fifth row of the starting grid of the Saturday Qualifying race; so, in the Qualifying race, he started ninth. In the end, he finished seventh. In the subsequent Cup race, he managed to further improve his position by moving up to the sixth place. The Sunday timed practice session did not turn out very well for Lacko; he only finished eleventh. However, owing to his fine driving manner, he claimed the ninth place in the Sunday Qualifying race. In the Sunday Cup race he gradually moved up to run at the front of the field. But then, the clutch release cylinder of his truck started failing. Despite that, Adam Lacko claimed an excellent sixth place in the end.

'I am rather satisfied with the result. Taking the sixth place twice in Le Man, in the face of great competition, it is not so bad. However, it is a pity that this has not improved our position in the overall standings,' said Adam Lacko after crossing the finish line. On the whole, he claimed the eighth place of the overall standings of this year of the series, earning 106 points altogether. After the race in Le Mans, the last one, it is Albacete, of Spain, with a MAN TG 410 A truck, who took the title of the truck competition champion.
