Drivers braved uncertain weather on the kart track in Písek |
- 4. 6. 2006, Písek -For the second time this year, Jiří Forman took part in an event of the Championship of the Czech Republic, namely, in a race held in the town of Písek last weekend. This year, he has at his disposal a completely new vehicle, the 'KADET' category kart manufactured by the Italian company BIREL, which is powered by a 59.42 cc air-cooled single-cylinder Parilla 60 engine fitted with a separate starter. Saturday's practice sessions and races were held on the dry track; consequently, drivers were clocking fast lap times. Jiří Forman attained an excellent resulting summary time of 00:42.281 in the two timed practice sessions of the KADET category. On Sunday morning, however, the drivers were caught in the heavy rain. And so, mechanics in the pits, too, were competing, that is to say, they were busy changing tyres, and lap times, naturally, were not so fast any more. Owing to his fine performance, Forman claimed fourth place in the first race. In the second race, the number of puddles and collisions on the track increased, which also affected the INTERNET EXPRES Prima Team's driver. He came seventh in the end. The course of the third race was similar, and Jirka came eighth. In his category of this racing event in Písek, Jiří Forman took the eighth place overall. At present, he is sixth in the overall standings of the Championship, with 56 points. |
