Jiří Forman excelled in the World Grand Finals in Italy |
- 15. 10. 2006, Jesolo, Italy -The World Finals - the EASY INTERNATIONAL GRAND FINALS - are the culmination event of the prestigious international racing kart series EASY KART INTERNATIONAL (for further information and for the results please go to www.easykart.it). This competition is contested by the best drivers of nearly twenty countries of the world. Jiří Forman, however, did not take part in all the races of this season. He only contested two of them, namely, that one in Trent, Italy, where he took the twelfth place, and in Parma, where he claimed the excellent third place last month. For that reason, this young Czech driver was invited to participate in the INTERNATIONAL GRAND FINALS which were held last weekend in Jesolo, Italy. Forman contested the Finals with the Emiliakart team (www.emiliakart.com), at the wheel of a three-year-old kart model (the other drivers had at their disposal the 2006 models). About 100 of the best drivers from 20 countries participated in the Parilla 60 category finals. In the first timed practice, Forman came seventh, after the second one, he was tenth. After the start of the A-series final race (34 best drivers of the qualifying), on lap 1, he was running eighth. However, on lap 2, he moved up to join the drivers at the front. This group of six gradually increased the lead over the rest of the field. Forman was struggling hard, and the order of drivers changed on every lap. 'I was slightly falling behind in the course of the last five laps of the hard twenty-lap race. The kart was not running to the 100% performance, and I was feeling a bit tired, too. Despite that I managed to keep the excellent sixth place. At the finish line, I came three seconds behind the winner, Riccardo Arone, but I was nine seconds ahead of the seventh-placed driver Alessandro Bisso,' said happy driver Jiří Forman after the final race, in which he had surpassed almost thirty excellent competitors! And, Jirka Forman sincerely added his words of thanks: 'I would like to express my thanks to Pepa Bodurek, my mechanic, who managed to transform a three-year-old machine into a kart with competitive capability, one which attracted attention of other teams, whose staffs curiously came to look at it.' |
