All the Saturday and Sunday sessions of the first event of the International Racing Circuit Championship of the Czech Republic at the Brno Masaryk Circuit were held in the very cold, rainy weather. Despite this fact, drivers Mirek Forman, Juraj Šedivý, Stanislav Lepka, Jan Urban and Jiří Nykodým gained valuable points in the races of Division 4 of this Championship.
In the Saturday endurance race, the drivers of Stan Matějovský's team had at their disposal two cars. The AUDI A4 ST rented from the Bohemia Racing Team was driven by Mirek Forman and Juraj Šedivý, who were also assisted by Michal Matějovský. And, Jan Urban was taking turns with the members of the above mentioned crew at the wheel of the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA Cup car. Naturally, this required highly elaborated rotation strategy; this task was mastered in a perfect way by Roman Seidl, the team's technical manager. After three hours of driving in the incessant rain, the AUDI and Alfa cars finished in ninth and eleventh places of the overall standings respectively. In the category up to 2000 cc, they came second and third respectively!
Unfortunately, the team did not attain the same success in Sunday's Division 4 sprint race of the category over 1600 cc, which was contested by the crews of four cars altogether. The AUDI was driven by Mirek Forman. However, on lap three, on the damp track, at the spot where numerous cars had to retire from the race, his car crashed, and its front part was damaged. On lap seven, the Alfa Romeo 156S 2000 car's battery charging system failed, and Juraj Šedivý, too, had to retire from the race. So, only Jan Urban and Jiří Nykodým with the two Alfa 147 GTA Cup cars remained on the track. They compared favourably with their rivals in the fiercely contested race. Urban and Nykodým took thirteenth and thirtieth places of the overall standings respectively. Roman Seidl commented on the situation as follows: "Honza Urban is fifth in the category up to 2000 cc, that is, he gained valuable points for the beginning of the season." And he promised: "On the whole, we can appraise this weekend racing event as a successful one, in particular with respect to the Octavia cars. We will apply ourselves to Filip. I think that our team have a lot of experience to pass on. Unfortunately, the bad luck that affected the course of Division 4 Championship sprint race is part of motor-sport events. Numerous other drivers, too, had to retire from the race due to the difficult, almost irregular conditions on the track. Also, we had to deal with the unlucky coincidence. Anyway, straight away at the beginning of the season, we have given our rivals to understand that we will be trying hard to rank among the top teams this year again."
