Forman's successful debut with the BMW |
- 28. 5. 2006, Brno -As many as three weekend rounds of the 2006 BMW 1 Challenge series were held in the course of one month. The last one took place in Brno, within the framework of the SUPERCAR 500 racing event. Michal Matějovský, who had represented the INTERNET EXPRES Prima Team in the previous race in the town of Most, was replaced at the Brno Masaryk Circuit by Miroslav Forman. And, Miroslav Forman acquitted himself well. In Saturday's race on the track that was drying up after the rain, he claimed the fifth place; on Sunday, in the pleasant spring weather, he finished in the seventh place. So, owing to his reliable, stable performance, Forman gained 120 points in his debut in this series. And, what were his feelings after he acquainted himself with the BMW car for the first time? After the race in Brno, Miroslav Forman said: 'I am pleasantly surprised by the car's good steering control. The experience I had gained in the Česká pojišťovna Škoda Octavia Cup will not be of great help to me because of the BMW car's rear drive. So, I am sorry that I did not have more opportunities to practice with this car before the races. I like the BMW 1 Challenge project very much, and I believe that a great future is awaiting it.' |
