- 21. 10. 2006, Brno -
Resembling the conditions of the previous year, the fine autumn weather was on the side of the organizers of the 2006 Alfa Romeo Epilog, the last racing event of this season. More than fifty cars of all categories came to the Brno Masaryk Circuit to contest the six-hour endurance race. The order of contestants at the finish line after three hours was essential for the standings of the International Racing Circuit Championship of the Czech Republic, while the actual standings of the race were only known, naturally, after six hours, that is, in the evening, at about 20.00.
In the final race of the Championship of the Czech Republic, the O2 Prima Team (former Internet Expres Prima Team) was represented by the crews of three cars, all of them in the category up to 2000 cc.
Miroslav Forman, Juraj Šedivý, Erik Janiš and Jaroslav Páral were taking turns at the wheel of the Audi A4 ST; owing to their reliable performance, they won their category not only in the Championship of the Czech Republic (after three hours), but also in the 2006 Epilog endurance race, crossing the finish line after six hours. The team's second crew consisted of Milan Urban, Jan Urban, Jiří Nykodým and Michal Matějovský. The first driver to become involved in the endurance race was Jan Urban. After about two hours, however, an engine breakdown occurred which could not be immediately repaired, and so this car had to retire from the race. The third crew, that is, Stanislav Lepka, Miroslav Forman, Juraj Šedivý and Michal Matějovský, were doing better. After three hours, they took the excellent second place in the Czech Championship, coming just behind the winning Audi A4 ST. However, this crew, too, was confronted with an unfortunate breakdown: less than half an hour before the end of the race, they had to retire from a position at the front. 'The engine bracket at one side of the car failed and, as it broke, it damaged the fuel supply,' said Miroslav Forman, whose car was leaking petrol after coming to the pits, menacingly giving off the typical petrol aroma.
The team's successful presentation at the 2006 Epilog was enhanced by Adam Lacko, another driver of the O2 Prima Team, who, as a guest-driver, contributed to the success of the crew of Nimč/Lacko/Rosina/Gusenbau with an AMG M3000 Mercedes DTM car. They not only won their category, but also came first in the overall standings of the 2006 Alfa Romeo Epilog.
Also, the O2 Prima Team's V.I.P. facilities at the Brno Masaryk Circuit were very busy throughout the whole day of the racing event. The team's guests were joined not only by the representatives of some of the partners, but also, for example, by the children from the children's home in the town of Sedloňov in the Orlické hory mountains, who, along with their carers, count among the long term fans of the team. All of them could watch on a screen the course of the endurance race and the current order of the team's drivers all the time. The team's guests were accompanied throughout the whole day by the Brno-based moderator Jan Adámek, who prepared for the visitors a number of interesting interviews with the team's racing drivers and managers.
