On Monday, 23 January, the Congress Hall of Hotel Ambassador in Prague saw the 29th year of the motor-sport journalist survey award ceremony, the 2005 Golden Steering Wheel.
Once again, this prestigious survey was prepared by the Sport-Press agency in association with the Club of Motor-Sport Journalists. This year, the valuable awards were decided on by 32 prominent motor-sport journalists and specialists. The most awards were given to Tomáš Enge and to Erik Janiš. Enge took not only the Golden Steering Wheel in the 'Circuit Race' category, but also the Speed Award for the highest average lap speed (364.033 km/hour, attained in the Indianapolis 500 race on 29 May 2005). Erik Janiš was awarded the Golden Steering Wheel in the 'Kart' category and, moreover, he was also presented with the Prize of Jiří Sedlář for the best racing driver of the category up to 30 years of age.
Adam Lacko came fourth with the 69 marks profit among Czech racing circuit drivers this year, behind Janák, Janiš and the first one Tomáš Enge. Awards were also given to other racing drivers who represented the INTERNET EXPRES Prima Team in 2005: Jiří Skula, with the fourth place in "Karts" category, with the 46 marks profit, behind Barták, Klobás and the first one Erik Janiš, was given the trophy with the inscription 'Winner of the Czech Junior Trophy; Division D4 Circuit Races - Category up to 1400 cc'. And, Adam Kout, the winner of Division D3 of the Racing Circuit Championship of the Czech Republic, can also pride himself on a similar trophy since Monday evening.
