Preparation of vehicles for the upcoming season is culminating |
- 2. 3. 2006, Hradec Králové -The ČESKOSLOVENSKÝ MOTORSPORT a.s. company's workshops are very busy these days: the preparations of most of the cars for this year's season are being completed there. The most attention is paid now to the final stage of construction of the MAN TG - 410 A race truck, which is being assembled by the experienced mechanics. The company's technical director Roman Seidl is explaining: 'In fact, we are constructing a completely new truck. In some assembly groups, we have made use of the latest structural components and technology, for example in the chassis; the differential, too, is completely new. In other assembly groups, we have utilized the time-tested components, for example the shock absorbers (PENSKE, USA), and the brake system (KNORR-BREMSE). The telemetry, too, will be the same for this season (MOTEC).' The other workplaces in the company's service workshops are also busy: the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA car and the three Škoda Octavia Cup cars are being prepared there. The preparation of vehicles attracted the attention of journalists of the AutoProfi monthly. During his visit to the workshops in Hradec Králové on Wednesday, 1 March, Ondřej Horský, the editor in chief of the AutoProfi journal, said: 'It is very interesting to see the cars on racing circuit tracks during the season. And, moreover, the opportunity to watch, at least for a moment, the preparations of vehicles in the course of the winter break is very valuable. Today, we are particularly interested in the state of preparations of the MAN race truck.' The first tests of the new vehicles will be carried out in the second half of March, shortly after this year's opening press conference, which will be held in Prague on Thursday, 23 March. However, before the press conference, the first obligatory tests will be carried out of the Alfa Romeo 156 S 2000 car; the preparation of this car for the upcoming year of the FIA WTCC is being completed in Italy these days. |
