Last weekend, for the first time, the Automotodrom circuit in Brno saw the World Cup of Motorsport - the A1 Grand Prix. Within the framework of this competition, two accompanying events were held: the Škoda - Česká pojišťovna Challenge and the Division D4 races. The truck weekend event held at the Autodrom Most racing circuit from 25th to 27th August also included the final round of the tenth year of the Česká pojišťovna - Škoda Octavia Cup. Before this event, there was a strong probability of the INTERNET EXPRES Prima Team's winning the title in the teams' competition, and Michal Matějovský was well set to take the title of the winner of this season. The situation at the weekend racing event appeared to be very favourable at first. Michal Matějovský even took pole position for Sunday's first race after winning the Superpole, coming 0.11 seconds ahead of Janák, the winner of the last year of the series. Adam Lacko and Jiří Jupa started eighth and twelfth respectively. On Sunday morning, when the drivers got ready for the start, Michal, still before the red light went off, slightly moved his car. As Adam Lacko was contesting the truck race in Misano, Italy, the team had asked Jiří Jupa to join them for this race and drive Adam's car in order to prevent it from being out of action.
