- 23. 7. 2006 - Norisring -Having nearly healed the injury of his right arm, which he had suffered in the Česká pojišťovna Škoda Octavia Cup races in Most in June, Adam Lacko was able to take part in the contests of the fourth round of the Porsche Carrera Cup (www.racecam.de) held at the Norisring circuit in Norimberk last weekend. In Friday's free practice sessions, Lacko was gradually improving his performance. In the Saturday morning timed practice attended by almost thirty drivers, he clocked the fourteenth best time to take a spot in the seventh line of the starting grid of the Sunday afternoon race, in which the drivers had to cope with the oppressive weather. In the end, Lacko claimed a fine twelfth place in the race; he covered 35 laps, clocking a time of 31.24:757. After the race, he said: 'The first two laps really were hard. I had to slow down because of several collisions that occurred on the track at that time. At one moment, when I was watching a dangerous collision in front of me, I even had to stop the car and wait for a second before I could go on. It was a difficult race and I am delighted with the placing. Despite the fact that two months have passed since the last race and I was not able to practice with the Porsche due to my injury, we have attained a better placing here than in our first race at Oschersleben.' Nine drivers had to retire from the race. Victory was taken by Dirk Werner, of Germany. The next race, the fifth one, takes place on 20 August at the well-known Nürburgring circuit, Germany, and Adam Lacko is to take part in it as well. |
