Matějovský Is To Enter FIA ETCC Fights This Week

This year the second round of FIA ETCC is held this weekend on the Slovak circuit Slovakia Ring, however, the first race for Michal Matějovský, who is coming back to the Slovakia Ring on 25th April 2012 after the last week's testing to meet his fellow drivers from the SEAT Sport Slovakia team, and his Spanish colleagues from the SUNDRED Engineering team, who will bring him the SEAT Leon Tdi car specially made for this race. Last preparations and tests will be completed on Thursday. The programme of the FIA ETCC round will be launched on Saturday by free practice sessions, qualification is to be on Saturday too at 4 p.m, both cup races will be held in shorts intervals on Sunday, in the morning (at 11.20) and after the noon (12.35).

A numerous field of drivers is heading for Slovakia. Twenty-seven machines will race within the FIA ETCC in four categories: Super 2000, Super 1600, Single-Make Trophy and Super Production Class. Michal starts in the class Super 2000 for the SEAT Sport Slovakia team supported by the SUNDRED Engineering team. Driving the same car as Michal in the same class, also for the SUNDRED Engineering team, a young Fernando Monje, Spain, is going to defend his front position he has been holding thanks to the two wins in the first FIA ETTC event Monza, Italy. Out of local, resp. Czech and Slovak drivers, also Petr Fulín (Křenek Motorsport team, BMW 320si) and young Maťo Homola, Slovakia (Homola Motorsport team, BMW 320si), who is only 17 let and will debute in the FIA ETCC, are going to fight for the top ranking in the FIA ETCC round on Slovakia Ring. In the driver field at start will also appear Patrik Nemec, but will go in the Single-Make Trophy class.
