Super Ones Series Start in Whilton Mill Faces Adverse Weather

- 30. 4. 2012, Whilton Mill, Prague -

The first round of the UK Karting Championship, Super One Series in Whilton Mill finished at the weekend, affected by rainy weather. As early as on Friday and Saturday seven free practice sessions in total were held in heavy rain, Jiøí Forman was moving around the 10th position, and the racing drivers learnt to know the track on the wet surface. Follow-up qualification was then divided into two groups. It had just stopped raining before the start and the track began drying. Forman starting in the first group finished the 5th and came the 16th in the second group when the track had already dried.

The first out of two planned heats was run after the Saturday's qualification. Owing to that the track had already dried, they went on dry tyres. Jiøí Forman entered the race without any experience of driving on this dry track. The race running 10 minutes plus 1 lap was too complicated for him. Finally, he took again the 16th place. The second heat was on Sunday in pouring heavy rain and extremely cold weather. Jiøí finished on the 8th place.

The weather was deteriorating, therefore the final in Whilton Mill was called off due to the extreme rain after heats, and the round was cancelled. Despite that Jiøí Forman, thanks to good results in heats, is holding the 14th place in the running classification now. "This round provided me with valuable experience, and I could call it my most difficult race ever. The pity of that first heat when the track was dry, since it took me time to find a correct trail to finally find out that the transmission we had chosen was not that suitable one. The second heat ran on water was easier for me, since we had already tested all for water and I had driven seven practice sessions in the same bad weather. The round was hectic, but despite the bad weather it has offered many pieces of experience. What I proved myself is that we are good enough to come up to tenth despite the strong competition, and I am really looking forward to next round of the series, now on the circuit Glan-y-Gors Park (North Wales) at the end of May," said Jiøí Forman after the round in England.
