Saturday's Qualifying Turning Out Well For Czech Pilots. Jiří Forman and Petr Běžel Making One Win

- 25. 5. 2013, Castello, Italy -

Round 2 of the Rotax Eurochallenge series in Castellet, Italy, has pulled in the start over a hundred and fifty pilots of the three categories, the largest of which Rotax Seniors has seventy-six racing drivers, far from usual! Czech representatives were definitely not losers there; Jiří Forman came fifteenth in a timed practice session yesterday, and in the today's qualifying our pilots were even getting on better as both Jiří Forman and Petr Běžel won one of the warm-ups! So, both of the drivers will start from the front of the field, Jiří Forman from inside Row 3, Peter Běžel from alongside.

Petr Běžel had made his first qualifying practice excellently; his rivals could see just the rear bumpers of his kart at the start-finish line. Going in the same race, the category Senior Max, Petr Fulín finished seventeenth and David Rychtár twentieth. Another qualifying practice saw Jiří Forman fight a battle to take finally sixth place. Series 2 of the Seniors Max category would come out best for Jiří Forman as he made win and set the fasted lap in the race. Fulin carved out sixth place in his qualifying practice, not doing badly was also Rychtar who finished sixteenth. Both of the best Czech drivers in the category Senior Max met in a warm-up Series 3; coming fifth was Jiří Forman who was luckier, eleventh place went to Petr Běžel owing to collision. In the same race we could see also David Rychtár who took fifteenth place. Petr Fulín started in another qualifying practice to be classified on the twenty-sixth position.

Jiří Forman was out of luck in the final series, as he ended up as early as after the start being involved in collision, therefore he would enter the race from the back of the field. He, however, was moving ahead to come tenth in the finish. Petr Běžel also did a good job. He had made start among best getting fourth place. David Rychtár finished fifteenth in that qualifying.

To sum up, our representatives were successes today, Jiří Forman on fifth place and Petr Běžel on sixth place qualified for the final in the category Senior Max, Tomáš Salva in the category Junior Max took twenty-sixth place in overall. In a second chance tomorrow we may see David Rychtár, who finished forty-second in overall, and Petr Fulín who was classified fifteenth. Mainly Jiří Forman and Petr Běžel are definitely able to appear somewhere at the top!

Jiří Forman was also satisfied: "If it had not been that collision in the final qualifying, when I was bumped into by a driver behind, I could start from Row 2 tomorrow. Neither inside position in Row 3 is that bad, and providing there are dry conditions tomorrow I can fight for top positions. Today's sessions on the wet were often just a lottery, luckily it turned out well for us."
