Truck Racing Triggering Change!

- 30. 08. 2013, Most, CZE -

The ability to react extra swiftly is what the management of the Buggyra International Racing System showed today after the Russian pilot Yuri Yegorov's "sorry-card" had arrived at the venue for the European Truck Racing Championship, Round 7 in Most. "In a way, we've paid for Yuri Yegorov's loyalty towards the team, as a medical report reads a nasty hand injury, yet he was going to enter the race until a very moment. However, it was just impossible," confirmed the team's manager Jan Kalivoda. At that moment, only two variants existed: either David Vršecký by himself or a new driver. The Buggyra chose Variant 2. "Naturally, we immediately thought of Michal Matějovský, who's been our test driver this year. So we contacted him right now.".

Michal, who had counted in being involved in the event just within a press drive, grabbed the chance with both hands at once. "Surely, I was not preparing myself for the race, it'll be a sort of gambling; but it's exactly what's racing about. Compared with drivers who have already taken part in six rounds, I'll face disadvantage, yet I can't image I would turn down this offer", said Michal. "Fortunately, I've tested with a new Buggyra, and I know a good deal about the car. I'm looking forward to the race, and I'm gonna battle."

David Vršecký also applauded his younger team-mate's decision. "Despite Michal hasn't been in races this year, he was moving ahead during the testing. He especially bettered working with brakes, which is alpha and omega of success in truck racing. As I remember it well, Michal did gain points in his debut race last year. He is in with chance to make it now."
