Team Křenek Motorsport Taking Part In First Test This Season

- 18. 03. 2014, Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium -

For the first time this year, the Křenek Motorsport team took part in a test day at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, on Tuesday, 18th March. Participating in the test was also Michal Matějovský, who had been announced the team's racing driver for this year's championship FIA ETCC, and his teammate Petr Fulín.

Both drivers performed shakedowns on their BMW 320si, S2000 specification, on the local seven-kilometre-long racetrack. "It was a perfect ride. I've never driven here before; I only had a try at on the simulator, and to be honest, I got fascinated by the track. It's a legend, indeed," Michal Matějovský said about the racetrack and added: "It's been first drive this year, so we took it easy. It's very good I could drive here before the racing weekend."

It was a one-day test, nevertheless, the racing drivers stroke it lucky with the weather as they had possibility to drive both on the racetrack when drizzling, that means on the wet, and then it were dry tyres that took their go after the noon."It was a pleasant drive. Also me haven't been driven here so far. I've made fifty laps today, and I hugely enjoyed it after a long winter brake. Judging by Formula 1 broadcasts I've seen, I would say the track is rather broad, however, it's not true," Petr Fulín, the last season's champion, said after the test.

The team's boss summed up the test in Belgium saying: "I think, we may appraise this operational test as positive. I just feel bad about the minor technical problems with gears in Michal's car, so we couldn't use potential of all day. We'd made some changes on the chassis during the winter, which, according to the drivers, seemed to be useful. What awaits us before the season itself is another test, at minimum, which will show what our real situation is."

Covered laps: Michal Matějovský - 19 on wet / 21 on dry; Petr Fulín - 14 on wet / 37 on dry.
