Season at Salzburgring Turning into Second Half

- 22. 5. 2014, Salzburgring, Austria -

Situated close to the fourth largest city in Austria, Salzburg, the circuit Salzburgring is 4.241 metres in length, and has six right-hand and six left-hand turns. It is to host the FIA ETCC championship for the sixth time. Whereas in 2008 and 2011 the event held there was just a one-shot one, the years 2010, 2012 and 2013 saw the full series including four rounds at least. The list of 28 racing drivers' names comprises also those of the Prague's team, Křenek Motorsport: Petr Fulín and Michal Matějovský.

Fulín and Matějovský are leaving for Austria being encouraged by good results from the previous races on the Slovakia Ring, and having a clear aim: to get maximum of points, which would make it possible to achieve a good position for next two rounds in Spa, Belgium, and Pergusa, Italy.

"I'm looking forward to races at Salzburgring. I expect I'll be able to make it to a good result, at least as good as in Slovakia last week. I'm feeling fine, equipment is OK, so there's just one dark horse: weather. According to the weather forecast there is wet to come, like last year; after all, rain has been accompanying us since the beginning of this season; nothing to give us surprise. I'll be driving with 29-kg Success Ballast due to the results in Slovakia. Anyway, any heavier than a Swiss Rikli's (Success Ballast + 30kg), my nearest rival at the moment; surely it's gonna be a battle," Michal Matějovský says before his departure for Salzburgring.

And this is what his teammate, Petr Fulín, adds: "I consider Salzburgring to be one of the weakest part in the schedule, since it's mostly flat having no technical passages. Spacing between pilots is short, therefore any disadvantage in performance or car's weight will be considerable. I'm gonna drive it safe, and try to accept a potential loss of position, as I don't want the last year's scenario to be repeated. I don't want to look like giving-up, but we paid for rival's eagerness with many point last race there. Anyway, all team are ready, and we're looking forward to next races, going to do our bests."
