Matějovský and Fulín Setting Benchmark in Free Practice Sessions

All twenty-eight drivers fighting for points in the FIA European Touring Car Cup 2014 four classes took part in test drives on the Spa-Francorchamps racing circuit on Friday morning, 20th June. The drivers in forty-five minute testing sessions were given a welcome by a cloudy sky, however the track was dry. Attacking the strongest drivers of Super 2000 TC2T class in Test 1 was Petr Fulín with the fastest time 2:37.652, who would finally take second place, and first one in his class Super 2000 TC2. The second place went to his team mate Michal Matějovský (2:40.447), Christian Fischer (2:40:943), Rikli Motorsport, Switzerland finished third.
The drivers were gradually speeding up during the testing sessions that had started at 3.30 p.m. on Friday. It was the Krenek Motorsport team's drivers who had been setting the benchmark in Super 2000 TC2 class. Now, it was Michal Matějovský (2:37.666) who was the fastest, Petr Fulín (2:37.799) took second place, a Swiss driver, Christian Fischer (2:37.892) finished in the third place. However, a Slovak driver, Sládečka in his Alfa Romeo 156 S2000 (2:38.181) jammed among the class Super 2000 TC2's fastest drivers Petr Fulín (2:38.006) and Michal Matějovský (2:38.181) in the Saturday morning's free practice session.
Michal Matějovský is taking part in an important battle in the Q together with his team mate Petr Fulín in the afternoon with the heaviest ballast handicap: 50kg. The qualifying for the FIA ETCC's Sunday races starts at 2.15 p.m.
