Fulín Wins Q, Matějovský Is To Start From Row 2

- 21. 6. 2014, Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium -

Winning Q4 in this year's FIA ETCC was the reigning champion Petr Fulín. He stopped his stopwatch at 2:36.867 in his fastest lap, which is a faster time by 0.249s than Samuel Sládečka's in Alfa Romeo. Tomorrow, Michal Matějovský is starting from the second row next to Christian Fischer, Switzerland. Matějovský's time was 2:37.995. Winning his second Pole Position, Petr Fulín added another three precious points in the standings.

Petr Fulín: "I trusted myself before Q. But after we'd fitted new tyres I got into heavy traffic on the track. The situation was much alike after we'd fitted another set of tyres, so I guess, my qualifying time could have been a bit faster. Our aim we've set for this weekend is to enjoy it here and I believe it'll be so. Hopefully, all drivers will be wise enough to avoid accidents in Turn 1 after flying start."

Michal Matějovský: "Spa is a long track, and here it's about the two first laps, which I didn't make them happen in a way I'd expected. It's partly because of heavy traffic on the track but also because of a yellow flag just in the fast lap ... If it had not been those circumstances, my time could have been a bit faster. Well, I don't feel disappointed but not satisfied either. Tomorrow is another day, so another opportunity to fight for a result and win as many points as possible."

Sunday's Warm-Up starts at 9.25 a.m. Seven-lap races are scheduled for the afternoon at 4.05 and 5.20. Both races are broadcast on TV EUROSPORT 2 on Tuesday, 24th June at 6.00 p.m. Watch livetiming on www.mstworld.com. For more information click on www.ceskeokruhy.cz.
