Just a few days have passed since Michal Matějovský arrived in Hradec Králové after the racing weekend in Brno to appear in a car on a circuit again, now on Thursday, 10th September 2015. However, it was not his BMW 320si but the team’s presentation car Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 he was leading the peloton in during a bicycle race called Elkov Grand Prix of Hradec Králové.

"Cycling events have well-established tradition in the city," said Pavel Černý, the president of the Hradec Králové Region Cycling Federation, and went on: "Cycling criterium in the streets of the city of Hradec Králové celebrates its 50th anniversary, and is likely to be the earliest home road race that is held annually in the country. We’ve changed the date this year, but not the venue: Ulrich’s Square and adjacent streets. We’re glad Michal Matějovský, the reigning FIA ETCC Vice-Champion, is here to lead the peloton."

The racing programme has been recently extended, so it includes sports activities for both passive and active sportspeople now. Single races were held through the long Thursday afternoon. First, it is cyclists in children’s categories that competed in the race among primary schools, then juniors and cadets. Next, the handicapped and hobby cyclists took part in the competition. The final race early in the evening was a 40-lap contest for men.
