Battle For Title Gets Thrilling

- 10, 10. 2015, Pergusa, Italy -

The final round of the FIA ETCC is taking place on the Italian racing circuit at Pergusa now. Michal Matėjovský, the Køenek Motorsport team's racing driver, is close to notch up a win in TC2 class. However, the last step is usually the hardest one. He could find it out himself in the morning when he had to put off two Free Tests and Free Practice due to capricious nature. A storm early in the morning had flooded some sections of the track, and deposited silt on it; strong wind had broken trees that would fall on the track.

However, the track had been cleared and set into its original condition, so racing drivers could go. The Czech racing driver, however, did not because of tactic, so would not appear on the circuit lying around Pergusa Lake until Test 2. Matėjovský was able to count the time of 1:55.360, but then an unlucky collision in a pit lane would occur...

"The morning was fairly interesting, indeed. The nature had showcased its power again. Fortunately, all stuff could be removed fast, so it was possible to get on the track later on. I did not enter the first test, and in another I got involved in collision with Andreas Pfister in a pit lane, which resulted in broken shock absorber and axle. However, thanks to our mechanics' perfect performance it'd been repaired and I could go two laps in the Free Practice, at least. We'll tune geometry over the night, and in the morning there is Qualifying," said Michal Matėjovský about the morning events on the Enna Pergusa circuit.

I bit different form of the racing weekend, when the Qualifying is on Sunday, made it possible for mechanics to tune the damaged car after the collision, and prepare it for Sunday's Qualifying and both races. Q starts at 8 a.m., Race 1 is scheduled for 11 a.m. and Race 2 for 1 p.m. Spectators have opportunity to watch both races live broadcast on TV channel Eurosport.
