Unclucky Beginning

- 6. 10. 2012, Jarama, Spain -

With ill luck entered the racing weekend in Jarama David Vršecký. After he had not won through to the superpole - first in his career, he came twelfth in the cup race; Michal Matějovský not driving badly finished in the fifteen place. The cause of that unlucky beginning lies in running oil. First coming in the second free practice, unfortunately, the warning was repeated at the beginning of the timed practice. Nevertheless, with the time clocked in the first heat yet he failed to qualify for the superpole. "We tried a fairly new thing, the risk that brought about the pole position last year but now wasn't worth it," admitted David before the cup race.

The start came out well, and he was eleventh after the first lap, then he was engaged in a long fight with a domestic contestant Mariezcurrena. "Javier was extremely eager, fully aware he was at home. He drove me off the line several times, but no wonder regarding the circumstances. After doing such a manoeuvre, also Makinen got in front of me. No great shakes, but we're gonna fight," summed up the race David.

Michal Matějovský, another Buggyra driver, was not doing poorly coming fifteenth in his second start in the European championship on this technically demanding racing circuit."I walked the track yesterday, it is really heavy; today I was getting acquainted with the local track and the atmosphere during sessions but also race. It's pretty interesting, demanding, but I feel quite content with the results,"said Michal Matějovský after the first race.
