Jiøí Forman in Zuera Trying to Qualify for World Final

- 26. 10. 2012, Zuera, Spain-

A wide array of rival racing drivers from every corner of the globe have arrived in a Spanish town close to Zuera to take part in the Rotax International Open 2012 round. The reason is simple: the first two drivers from each of the three categories will qualify for the world final of the Rotax 2012 (Rotax World Final) held in Portugal. It is also Jiøí Forman, a Czech pilot, who will not be missing at the start. Despite he has not entered all series of the Championship of the Czech Republic this year, therefore could not try to capture the title to qualify for the world final, he is in with chance of qualifying, which he proved coming sixth in the qualifying round. Almost a hundred of pilots from more than twenty-five countries and five continents have entered the lists of this year's Rotax International Open. The Rotax Max Seniors category consisting of forty drivers is the largest group, and the only one that, prior to qualifying sessions, will be divided into four groups after a timed one. Drivers in other two categories, Rotax Max Juniors and Rotax Max DD2, will drive in three qualifying heats together after the timed practice session.

As usual, Wednesday and Thursday were reserved for testing. All categories were taking turns in fifteen-minute test sessions; each of the team did their best to find optimal chassis and engine setup. Whereas Wednesday's practices were under the blue sky, the wet track awaited drivers on Thursday as it had been raining at night. However, the track got dry during the morning, so tests were on the dry.

On Friday, there were three free practice sessions, unlike the ones during last two days, now with a timekeeper - and first on the wet track. It was steadily raining during all sessions; and the rain let up just before qualifying. Despite the wet track, Jiøí Forman was driving reliably, and took eleventh and two fifth places.

Although the track was wet during the qualifying session, there was much less water comparing with the free practices. Keeping the great second place virtually the whole qualifying, Jiøí Forman was overtaken in the final seconds by a group of drivers led by Singleton, who would win, to finish finally on the sixth place.

Jiøí Forman will start in three qualifying heats tomorrow from the second row on the grid, having every chance of qualifying from the front positions for the final sessions on Sunday.
