Austrian Salzburgring Venue for Second Pre-Season Test

- 4. 4. 2014, Salzburgring, Austria -

The Køenek Motorsport team went to Salzburgring, Austria, to test before the FIA ETCC season. The racing track nearby a picturesque town, Salzburg, is a venue for the season 2014's third racing weekend held on 24th May through 25th May, and the data the team collected there will be highly important, since other teams entering the ETCC championship such as Engstler Motorsport and the team's drivers, Christian Fischer and Plamen Kralev in their BMW 320si, tested there, too.

The team Køenek Motorsport set out for the testing with only Michal Matìjovský, who would rack up the best time 1:30.890 during 41 laps. Just to allow comparison, Michal Matìjovský's qualifying time last year was 1:30.868. He commented on the testing: "I'm glad I could also test here at Salzburgring before this year's season, on the track we had taken part in races last year. We'd worked mostly on chassis adjustment, but also times that had been gradually bettering, so I was satisfied. The car went smoothly, the data we've collected this year and experience from the last FIA ETCC year indicate that both team and me, as a driver, are well prepared for the forthcoming season, and I'm looking forward to the opening, which will be soon in France."

"We had wonderful weather during all testing, which went without a minor problem. Despite the track had been relatively busy, we'd managed to test and tune adjusted Öhlins steering dumpers, therefore I felt satisfied with the result. Now, we have to prepare both cars for the ETCC Round 1 held on the racing track Paul Ricard in France. We've already taken part in the World Series with a formula Renault there, yet it'll be debut with BMWs, therefore the preparations must be thorough,"Josef Køenek, the team's boss said after the testing.
