Invitation to Trucks in Most

- 28. 8. 2014, Most, CZE -

The school holiday is about to finish, contrary to motorsports where it is going to happen a lot. Tomorrow, the European Racing Truck Championship enters its final stage. The autodrom in Most hosts the most powerful machines in the world at the weekend.

It is two races on Saturday and two ones on Sunday that are going to be a crowd-puller as they might indicate what fights for this year's champion titles will be like. The standings after five rounds are fairly tight. After the battles in Most, there will only be three final events in the championship. The present position suggests that the title will be captured by either of the three pilots of MAN specials. The uncrowned king of the championship, Jochen Hahn, is sure to try to hold his long-standing record: four titles in row in the last three years. However, the 2006 and 2010 Champion of Europe, Antonio Albacete, is undoubtedly going to smash it. The third player in this "bridge game" is a 29-year-old Hungarian, Norbert Kiss, this year's season dark horse.

Dealing with dominating trucks in the home arena will be the Czech stable, Buggyra - International Racing System, now taking the second place in the teams' standings thanks to two drivers, Lacko & Vršecký, so the team are carrying hopes for beating the leading Truck Sport Lutz Bernau in next rounds. It will be no easy task for the "home-adjusted" Freightliners to fight against the "manufactured" MANs, though, the team from Roudnice are full of determination to succeed. "We made several technical improvements to the truck before the racing weekend in Most, so we're going on full blast and fight to score as many points as possible," holding promise Adam Lacko, taking the best position out of Czech drivers. Standing at the start line will be Lacko's teammate, the 2008 and 2009 Champion of Europe, David Vršecký. The team's test and substitute driver, Michal Matějovský, is taking part in the round in Most, too, despite he is mostly engaged in the European Touring Car Cup as a BMW 320si's driver, where he is taking second place at the moment, yet he keeps in close touch with the Buggyra team: "I've recently tested with Roudnice's team on the Most track. Both vehicles are perfectly prepared, and I'm happy I'll enjoy these events on the circuit with the boys. Naturally, I'd like to invite all motorsports fans to the autodrom. It's gonna be a real battle there...," said Michal Matějovský before the racing weekend.

But it is not just monster trucks that the Autodrom Most is going to be lively with. Accompanying races will show cars of the opposite size spectrum: There are two races of the KIA Lotos Race 2014 series scheduled for the weekend in Most, where mostly two Polish drivers in tiny Picants will cross their swords. Monoposts formula Renault 2.0 will meet three times within the NEC (Northern European Cup) series, but the programme also includes the Renault Clio Cup Central Europe. Spectators are welcomed to watch free practice sessions on Friday at 11 a.m., the Q and races are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are priced at CZK 60 to CZK 350 per day, three-day ones for adults cost CZK 490, for children under the age of 15 and 150cm in height cost CZK 100. Free admission is for younger children and those up to 130cm, as well as for the handicapped. There will be two LED TV screens 4x6m in size available for spectators to watch live both racing days. One will be above pits another on a crane next to the bridging Meritor. Visitors to the Web pages will be provided information on the championship on the www.buggyra.com and the www.csms.cz.
