Matějovský Topping Off Series Of This Year's Success

It is the third time a racing driver, Michal Matějovský from Hradec Králové, has made it to the three best Czech circuit racing drivers; he got the third place in a prestigious motorsport press poll called Golden Steering Wheel, whose prize giving ceremony took place on 16 December 2014 in the Top Hotel, Prague. On the podium in the category Car Circuit Racing stood also his teammates, Petr Fulín from the Křenek Motorsport team gaining the second successive win, and Adam Lacko from the Buggyra International Racing System team taking the second place.

Michal Matějovský was awarded 72 points by polling journalists after he had taken the second place in the FIA ETCC 2014. "I feel satisfied with this year's results, and I greatly value this award. Likewise last year, in my first season in the European championship, we've again achieved excellent results as a team this year, and re-captured championship in The Nations' Cup, and Petr his victory; bettering my position by three notches I made it to the second place in the final standings. Unlike last year, I had wider experience now, which I had gained in the European championship, so when driving I was a bit cooler, which resulted in earning more points in the final. Now we're concentrating on the coming season 2015. All race equipment preparation led by the Křenek Motorsport team, whose flag I'm gonna fly next year too, is perfect so I believe I'll go on good results also next year. Races are sure to be interesting, if only because the Czech Republic will host this event again after a one-year break: one of the FIA ETCC 2015 rounds is to be held on the Autodrom in Brno. The FIA ETCC 2015 series will comprise six racing weekends, so one weekend more," said after the ceremony Michal Matějovský.

The awards ceremony was presented by an actress, Anna Polívková, and Petr Dufek, the manager of the Sport-Press Agency.
