Matėjovský Winning Qualifying in Brno

- 5. 9. 2015, Brno -

Michal Matėjovský’s start to the FIA ETCC round in Brno was excellent. He set the fastest time in Super 2000 TC2 class in Qualifying and would get the seventh place in the Standings. He credited three points to his point account.

The FIA ETCC programme on the Masaryk Circuit on Saturday also included three free practice sessions. "We’d had a bit of problem at the beginning due to understeering, which we eliminated. Then, we were satisfied with times after fitting new tyres for Test 2," recapped the day Matėjovský. The tactic, which the Køenek Motorsport team’s boss Josef Køenek had applied was unambiguous: To go one excellent lap at the beginning. "This I made. I was going close behind Petr Fulín, nobody got into our way, we escaped crush," said satisfied Michal, who considers this track situated at the edge of the city especially suitable. After all, he has beaten many rivals with more powerful cars so far. Even though, he is realistic. "Tomorrow, I must keep a cool head and have nerves of steel, I mustn’t get into mad panic. It would be great to finish in eighth place at worst, since the starting grid in Race 2 is according to these standings."

On Sunday, Michal Matėjovský in his BMW 320si is going in Warm-Up at 9.30 a.m. Ten-lap Race 1 begins at the noon, Race 2 shortly after the break at 1.10 p.m.
