The ČSMS team's weekend success

The team of Miroslav Forman, Stanislav Lepka and Michal Matějovský won their category of the three-hour race of the International Championship of the Czech Republic at the Most circuit on Saturday. The fact that the ČSMS team's drivers were in great shape was evident before the race, in the qualifying, in which Matějovský set the fastest time.
In the race, the first driver at the wheel of the ČSMS team's Audi A4ST was Forman, followed by Lepka. The race was finished by Matějovský. The only problem encountered by the team was the replacement of brake pads, which, however, did not cause the team to give up the lead. This race was Matějovský's debut with the Audi A4ST. That is, the timed practice session on Friday was the first opportunity for him to take the wheel. He made a very good impression, by winning his category in the qualifying. 'I am very glad that I have had the opportunity to take part in this race. I would like to express my thanks to Mirek Forman, who had invited me to join him and Standa Lepka in this race. This is great experience and moreover, I got some practice before my next race under the colours of the Sunred-BRT team within the Seat León Eurocup series,' Matějovský said at the weekend. As a next item of his program, Matějovský will visit the Moto GP in Brno, where Karel Abrahám will act as host to him. They will be able to recall their first meeting at the Masaryk Circuit, on the occasion of Michal's first WTCC race.
Miroslav Forman came to the fore on Sunday as well, by winning the sprint race from pole position. 'The first half of the race was tough, as I had to defend my position against the experienced drivers who started behind me, one of them with an Audi, several others with 300 HP Octavia cars,' Forman said after the race, and went on: 'After the start, I managed to keep the lead, but my hope of getting clear of the pack was shattered by the Safety Car. The second start was all right as well, and the situation settled in the second half of the race. The car was running perfectly and so I claimed the victory, having secured my title in the sprint race category.'
Another successful driver of this racing weekend is the Vekra ČSMS team's driver Petr Fulín, who dominated each of the two races of the Česká pojišťovna Škoda Octavia Cup. His excellent performance helped our team to win the first prize in each category involved. After coming first in the timed practice, Fulín won the first race from pole position. And, in short, the same applies to the second race: Fulín won from pole position again.
