Michal Matějovský's first tests with the SUNRED-BRT team in Spain

Michal Matějovský's first tests with the new SEAT León car in the SUNRED-BRT Spanish-Czech team took place at the circuit near the Calafat seaside resort, approximately in the middle of the distance between Barcelona and Valencia (www.circuitcalafat.com).

'I have the opportunity here to test two cars prepared in an excellent manner. One of them will be provided to me for the upcoming debut season of the SEAT León Eurocup series. This testing event is also attended by a prominent Spanish driver Oscar Nogués (29), who has won numerous races of the SEAT León Supercopa series, and so we can compare our skills in these opening tests,' Michal Matějovský said at the beginning of the testing with the SEAT car at the Calafat circuit.

Matějovský, who will be able to take full advantage of his experience gathered not only in the Česká pojišťovna Škoda Octavia Cup but also in the races with a WTCC category car, managed, right away in these opening tests, to set times comparable with those of the Spanish champion.

'We have entered five drivers altogether for this year of the SEAT León Eurocup series, and we are glad that Michal Matějovský, of the SUNRED-BRT team, is among them. These first tests have proved that he is fast enough. Moreover, he is adapting himself to the team very well, is communicative and well capable of providing us with the information required for the car set-up,' said Ian Planas Argemí, an engineer of the company SUNRED ENGINEERING DEVELOPMENT S. Right after the tests, the car selected will be carefully inspected by the SUNRED company's technicians and thereafter thoroughly prepared for the SEAT León Eurocup series' first official testing event that takes place on Friday, 25th April 2008, at Valencia, Spain; at this event, the car will already be presented under the colours of the SUNRED - BRT team.
