Michal Matějovský's team-mate Oscar Nogués prepares for the WTCC race at Pau

- 28. 5. 2008, FIA WTCC -

Oscar Nogués Farré, Michal Matějovský's Spanish team-mate, was the first driver to win a racing event of the brand-new SEAT León Eurocup series. His fine achievement qualified him to take part in the upcoming FIA WTCC race.

Oscar Nogués, who is 31, will be driving at Pau a SEAT León TFSI car prepared by the SUNRED Engineering team. He will follow in the steps of his colleague, José Manuel Pérez-Aicart, who, after winning the last year of the SEAT León Supercopa series, took part in the racing event in Valencia (he finished 13th and 14th respectively in the two races). Nogués, in the opening event of the new SEAT Eurocup series, came first and second in Race 1 and Race 2 respectively. Moreover, Nogués is rather familiar with the WTCC series: as the winner of the Supercopa series in 2005 and 2006, he had gained the experience of the WTCC by successfully contesting the events in Valencia (2006) and Monza (2007). His best WTCC placing is the 12th place in Race 1 in Monza.
