Thursday's WTCC testing event at the Brno racing circuit

On Thursday, 12 June, in warm, dry weather, the FIA WTCC series' drivers had the first opportunity to try the new tarmac of the track of the Brno circuit, which was available to them for the whole day. Also taking part was Michal Matějovský. This, in fact, was the first time he had been at the wheel of a Seat car of the WTCC specification. 'At first, I was driving with great respect for the car, but then I kept increasing the speed gradually. We changed the tyres and replaced some components of the brake system in the course of the test. By observing the telemetry results permanently, we have achieved a set-up which is almost identical with that of Tom Coronel's car. Moreover, we have closed the gap to this experienced driver to just 1.8 seconds. I think that the car is ready for the Saturday free practice,' said Michal Matějovský at the end of the day, satisfied with the course of the tests and with the job done by the mechanics.
In the course of the tests, the SUNRED-BRT team's pits were visited not only by a great number of Michal's colleagues, but also by Mr Karel Kubů, the owner of the K plus K MOTORSPORT team and one of the SUNRED-BRT team's major partners for this racing event, and by Mr Jaime Puig, director of the company SEAT MOTORSPORT.
