Michal Matějovský: from New Zealand directly to racing circuits
After many hours of flight from Auckland, New Zealand, and after a few changes of planes with stopovers at airports, Michal Matějovský finally arrived in Prague last weekend. To his great surprise, after the several-month stay on the opposite side of the globe, he returned from summer weather directly into freezing winter conditions, which we were experiencing in this country at that time. And, moreover, he was to take part in the first testing with the SEAT car, which had been arranged by the team and was to take place right away on Tuesday, 18 March, at the Oschersleben circuit in Germany.
'In fact, I do not mind this kind of quick acclimatization. After several months with no races to contest, I am looking forward to the atmosphere of racing circuits. Unfortunately, the weather at Oschersleben was very bad, with freezing temperatures and light snowfalls. I was one of the fifteen drivers that took part in the testing, and I am glad to have set times that put me in the top half of the standings,' Michal Matějovský said after the first tests with the SEAT.
Also included in the driver's program was an acclimatization training session at Lonato, Italy, which had been scheduled for last week. Michal Matějovský joined there Michael Vorba and several racing drivers from other teams. And, the next several weeks will see Michal Matějovský testing not only the new SEAT, but also the Octavia Cup car.
