This year, Michal Matějovský, under the colours of the SUNRED BRT team, will take part in the prestigious SEAT Leon Eurocup to contest top placings in the series' six racing events held at circuits across Europe. The last details were agreed recently, and Matějovský will participate in the races of this high-profile series, enjoying the support provided to him by the well-known Bohemia Racing Team, of the Czech Republic.

'The 2008 SEAT Leon Eurocup definitely is a prestigious racing circuit series contested by very strong drivers and teams. We want to provide Michal with the best possible conditions. For the BRT, the entire project is an expansion of its cooperation with the VW Group, at which point we can proceed from our long-time successful cooperation with AUDI Sport,' says Petr Najman, the BRT team's manager, and explains that the series' races are broadcast live on the Eurosport TV Channel, which has the highest TV viewer ratings. The contestants are motivated in a very attractive manner - the winner of a particular race is rewarded with the opportunity to contest the respective subsequent FIA WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) race.

Furthermore, Petr Najman adds: 'The SEAT vehicles for this series are genuine race cars. They have a 2.0-litre supercharged engine with a torque of 340 Nm and power output of more than 300 hp. Fitted with 18" wheel rims and numerous aerodynamic devices, these cars definitely command respect. And, the electronic gear-shift controls incorporated in the steering wheel really are a treat. Michal already performed the testing at Oschersleben, Germany, and, despite the poor weather conditions, he spoke very highly of the car. It is our belief that he will be doing very well. He has been actively involved in motor sport for many years, and, in the last seasons, definitely attracted attention to himself owing to his achievements attained not only in the Racing Circuit Championship, in the BMW 1 Challenge series and in the Česká pojišťovna - Škoda Octavia Cup, but also abroad, that is, in the Divinol Tourenwagen Cup, in the ADAC Procar series and even in the FIA ETCC contests. And, the reason why we have joined forces? It is rather simple - only the best and strongest stand a chance in the face of great competition encountered at the level of European racing contests. Michal started his touring car career under our colours, in the Octavia Cup races in the Czech Republic, and we were able to see his rapid progress. Michal always fared well in the touring car category and racing circuit contests. We believe that he will persevere to give a good account of himself in the face of great international competition as well.'
