Matějovský finished in the points on Sunday

After retiring from the Saturday race of the penultimate event of the 2009 SEAT Leon Eurocup series, Michal Matějovský started the Sunday race from the rear, 16th spot of the grid. In the course of the 14-lap race, however, he managed to fight his way through the pack and finished in the valuable, point-scoring seventh place.

'From the back of the grid, I moved up to run among the top ten drivers and I managed to finish in the points. It is a pity that from lap 4 my car started failing and I had to deal with the car's understeering. To top it all, the engine seemed to have lost power. Yesterday's race really had been very unlucky and had suggested the development of the entire weekend event. Today, however, I have finished in the points, which is great. I am very much looking forward to the last event of this year of the SEAT Leon Eurocup series, which takes place in two weeks' time at Imola, Italy,' the SUNRED-BRT team's racing driver Michal Matějovský said after the Oschersleben racing event. Before the last event of the series, he is 8th in the overall standings, with 26 points.
